Established in : 1510 A.D. by the Devotees migrated from Banavali, Goa for fear of conversion into Christianity by the Portuguese.

Presiding Deities : Shri Katyayani & Shri Baneshwar. 
Other deity : Shri Ganesh (Diamond studded gold Ganapati installed with the blessings of all the Kulagurus of Saraswat Maths.)

Important Festivals : Navaratri, Dasara and Magha Shuddha Poornima.

Journey Details : By road is on NH 17 near Ankola. By train: Ankola Station.

Welfare Activities : Sponsored subsidised Meal Scheme in the school in the locality. Under Katyayani Baneshwar Health Centre medical facilities are extended to the poor and needy. Social and Cultural activities are encouraged. 

Additional Information : This is a Kuladevata Temple and the kulavis (Mostly with the surnames of Pai and Prabhu) are well organized and have formed a society.
